Chrono-Shift Chess combines classic chess rules with a unique "Time Bank" mechanic, allowing for strategic rewinds!
Game Basics:
- Follow all standard chess rules for piece movement, capture, check, and checkmate.
- The objective is to checkmate your opponent's King.
Chrono-Shift Abilities:
- Rewind: Each player starts with 5 Rewind points in their "Time Bank". Clicking the "Rewind" button allows you to undo the last move (your own or your opponent's) and costs 1 Time Bank point. Use them wisely!
- Undo: The "Undo" button allows you to take back only the very last move made, without consuming a Time Bank point. This is useful for correcting immediate blunders.
Game Features:
- AI Opponent: Toggle the AI to play against the computer. The AI has a limited number of moves per session (currently 50) to prevent excessive API usage.
- Board Evaluation: The "Board Evaluation" in the sidebar shows who is currently leading based on the material value of pieces on the board. A positive score favors Black, a negative score favors White.
- Game Timers: Each player has a set amount of time for the entire game. If a player runs out of time, they lose.
- Move History & Captured Pieces: Keep track of all moves and captured pieces in the sidebar.
